Trails

Walkability and trails are important to the Town of Oak Ridge, and we have several trails which are already built. The Mountains-to-Sea Trail (MST) Committee builds and maintains trails throughout the Town other than those within the parks. To reserve the Mountains-to-Sea campsite at Oak Ridge Town Park, click HERE. For more about the Committee and its activities, visit their Facebook page by clicking HERE.

As part of the MST, trails have been constructed at the Cascades Preserve. From there, hikers can take the gravel sidepath to Pepper Road and onto the Headwaters Trail, which follows the Haw River over to Linville Road. A small gravel parking lot has been built on Linville Road near the Haw River, which will serve hikers on this portion of the trail. For more about the MST in North Carolina, click HERE.

There are also many paved walking trails at Oak Ridge Town Park. For a map of those trails and their distances, click HERE.

In addition, there are several miles of mountain bike trails that wind through the wooded section of the park. For a map of the mountain bike trails, click HERE.

Trails are already being planned for other areas within the Town. For more information, continue to check this site.
