NCDOT's Proposed Plan for NC 68/NC 150 Intersection

Plans for the NC 68/NC 150 intersection are being finalized. The plans call for installing traffic circles at NC 68/Linville Road (near Bojangles) and at NC 150/Marketplace Drive (between Oak Ridge Commons shopping center and Marketplace Shopping Center). In addition, three of the four slip lanes from NC 150 onto NC 68 will be eliminated.

Update on April 22, 2026:

NC 150/NC 68 Road Improvement Update: As work crews prepare for the installation of the roundabout at Linville Road and HWY 68, drivers are encouraged not to make a left turn onto Linville Road from HWY 68.

Traffic flow will been impacted at this intersection until the roundabout is fully operational due to the left-turn-only lane being eliminated. Please use caution in this area.

Update on April 20, 2026:

NC 150/NC 68 Road Improvement Update: Asphalt paving will take place between Fogleman Road and Linville Road this Thursday, April 23, 2026 - Friday, April 24, 2026.

Traffic flow will be impacted with flaggers directing drivers through the area from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. on these days. 

Update on March 25, 2026:

NC 150/NC 68 Road Improvement Update: The entrance to Quiet Place will be temporarily closed beginning Wednesday, March 25, 2026, as crews work to install a new pipe across NC 68. Residents who live in Village Woods can access Quiet Place by using the entrance behind Starbucks.

Update as of Friday, March 27, 2026 - Work is expected to be completed by the end of next week due to unanticipated delays.

Update on April 2, 2026:

NC 150/NC 68 Road Improvement Update: Some sections of the existing barrier wall between DeVaney Dentistry and NC 150 will be removed Monday, April 6, 2026 - Tuesday, April 7, 2026.

Traffic flow will be impacted with flaggers directing drivers through the area.
