Historic District Design Standards

The purpose of the Historic District Design Standards is to give guidance about what kinds of exterior changes are compatible with the historic character of our district. The goal of the standards is to preserve history while allowing for compatible growth. The Design Standards apply to the entire District – including the open spaces – to maintain the unique character.

For questions about applying the Design Standards or projects within the Historic District, please contact staff at Oak Ridge Town Hall (336-644-7009) or any member of the Historic Preservation Commission.
