Future Bandera Farms
Bandera Farms is a roughly 115-acre site being developed by the Piedmont Land Conservancy (PLC) in cooperation with the Town of Summerfield, Town of Oak Ridge, Guilford County, and the City of Greensboro. A $500,000 grant has already been secured from the N.C. Parks and Recreation Trust Fund (PARTF), and PLC hopes to secure grant funds for the remainder of the costs.
Although Bandera Farms Park will have 4.5 miles of natural surface trails including 1 mile of the Piedmont Greenway, it will be unique for northwest Guilford County because it also plans for equestrian trails. In addition, its Master Plan calls for restrooms, paved parking (including 12 pull-through parking spots for horse trailers), a playground, and picnic shelter.
Bandera Farms Park will be located along Bunch Road and I-73 just outside of Oak Ridge in Summerfield. To view the Master Plan, click here.
